Inside the Dairy
Everyone knows that adding manure will provide some positive outcomes in a garden. However, it should be known that all manure is not created equal. Moo-trients uses an innovative process that creates a very high quality product that is consistent, effective, and sustainable.
Wash alleys–The beginning of the process is the wash alleys. There are a total of 4 alleys where manure accumulates in the dairy. To avoid machinery being in the alleys and stressing the cows, we “wash” the alleys. Every 4 hours, the alley will flood with water and take the manure on to the next process.
Separation–Once the alleys are washed, we move to separation. The “wash” process creates a liquid solution in a storage area. Upon reaching the storage area, the manure is separated into two parts; solid and liquid. In the liquid vats, there are pumps that pump the solids on to the next part of the process.
The Composting Process
Pre-Press–Once solids have been separated from the liquid mixture, they move on to the pre-press area. During this process, the solids move their way through an auger with holes in it. The purpose of this step is to remove some of the excess moisture left in the manure prior to the final step before composting.
Press–Once the product has made its way through the auger, it’s on to the press. Leaving the auger, the manure goes through a press to wring out the remaining liquid. This is the final step before we collect the manure to begin its composting journey.
Composting–After making its way through the rest of the process, it is time to compost! Once the manure is pressed, we create large piles of material. From this point, we continue to turn the piles to ensure they have the environment to compost correctly. During the composting process, the manure reaches internal temps above 160 degrees fahrenheit. This is very important. By reaching these internal temps, we kill pathogens that can be harmful as well as killing any weed seeds that may germinate as a result of using other manure products.
High Quality Cow Manure Compost
Manure has been used for a very long time to promote healthy plants. With that being said, all manure is not created equal. Through the extensive process we use to create Moo-trients, we are able to provide a high quality product that provides all of the “typical” benefits one may get from manure, plus many additional benefits. If you are looking for something that is locally produced, highly beneficial, and will be consistent time after time, Moo-trients is the product you are looking for!
